Lenders pay Loans Ottawa; you never do. This page sets out the one moment a fee is paid, why it cannot touch the price of your loan, what the apply link tells the platform, what we never learn about your application, and why the fee makes us neither a lender nor a broker.
When a fee is paid
A licensed lender pays us a referral fee at one moment only: when it funds a loan for a person who reached it through this site. A declined application earns nothing. A loan cancelled within Ontario's two business day window earns nothing either. On the lender's side the fee is a marketing cost, the same line as a poster at Hurdman station or a radio spot during the morning crawl on the Queensway.
Your cost does not move
The fee is never added to your loan and never raises its price. A payday lender in Ontario sets its cost at or below the cap of $14 per $100 under the Payday Loans Act, 2008, so a $300 loan costs $42 and $342 comes out of your account on your next pay date. That price is the same if you found the lender here, in a search result or from a coworker on a break at the General.
An installment lender quotes its APR under the federal 35% ceiling on the same basis. We take no share of any repayment.

What the apply link carries
The apply link carries one site code that names loansottawa.ca to the platform, so a funded loan can be matched back to this site. It carries nothing about you: no name, no location, no record of the page you were reading. Your browser sends no referrer. The privacy page covers this in full, and the how it works page shows what the platform asks once you arrive.
What we never see
We never see your application, your bank connection, your credit file, the lender's decision or the terms you sign. The platform matches on employment income, province and chequing account, and sends us nothing beyond a notice that a loan funded and the fee owed. We do not know which lender approved you.

No lender buys a place here
No lender pays for placement, ranking or a mention on this site, and none is named on it. We publish no lender reviews, keep no list of favourites and steer no reader toward one company over another. The fee gives us a reason to want your loan to fund with a lender that approves you, and no say in which lender that is.
Not a lender, not a broker
Receiving a referral fee does not make Loans Ottawa a lender, a loan broker or an adviser, and the site holds no licence under the Payday Loans Act, 2008 because it does not lend and does not arrange loans on anyone's behalf. We publish pages and one link; the platform and the lender do everything after the click. The about page explains who runs the site, and the terms of use set the rules of the relationship.
